The only laboratory analysis that Sirius Exploration Geochemistry performs is pyrolysis on our Source Rock Analyzer (SRA) instrument, which is housed at StratoChem Services in Cairo, Egypt, and is run by StratoChem personnel. All other laboratory geochemical analyses are subcontracted to StratoChem, which is a well-established, full-service, geochemical laboratory that has an excellent reputation.
We perform all our own determination of kinetic parameters from the SRA pyrolysis data. For this purpose we use the new ORFA software, which we developed jointly with StratoChem. We normally derive the kinetic parameters on the same day that we receive the pyrolysis data electronically from StratoChem.
Samples for geochemical analysis can be sent by DHL to Cairo using StratoChem’s prepaid account number, at no cost to the client. Sample transit times from the US are typically four or five days. Data acquisition in Cairo normally commences immediately after sample arrival, leading to very short turnaround times for delivery of geochemical data.
